Traveling with The Doctor Part Fifty-One

Tweegee leaned on the railing as the TARDIS soared smoothly in the time vortex. Lauren folded her arms. "You said you were going into the Time War to die."

Nate sighed. "I know what I said. I actually tried slipping through the time lock. Unfortunately, I failed, and am know traveling with two previous incarnations of myself, as well as you two."

Eleven looked up from the controls and grinned. "Oh, come now, Twelve. We're not that bad." The Doctors were referring to each other as numbers. It kept Tweegee and Lauren from going insane trying to track the conversations.

Ten rolled his eyes. "I beg to differ."

Suddenly, a low whimpering could be heard from the door. Everyone turned, and they were shocked to see a golden retriever puppy sitting there with it's head down.

"SCOUT!!!" hollered Lauren. The little dog scurried over to her, and she scooped him up. "How did you get here?"

Nate sighed. "Must have snuck on just before the door closed."

Scout barked. Eleven looked over. "Yes, I know it's bigger on the inside... It's supposed to be like that."

Nate smiled at Lauren's confused look. "We speak dog... and horse... and baby, when the need arises." Without waiting for a reply, he turned back to the controls. Reaching out, he yanked the ignition lever down. The TARDIS shook slightly before landing. Ten checked the screen. "Right place, definitely... But is it the right time?"

Tweegee jumped down toward the door. "One way to find out, Doc!" She threw the door open.

There was a two-story house in front of them. They had landed on a country-side.

The team piled out onto the lawn. Scout ran around the side of the house, yipping as he went.

Eleven chuckled. "Just be quick about it!"

Lauren turned. "Quick about what?"

Nate coughed. "He... um... needed to go."

At that moment, the front door of the house flew open, and a young woman who appeared to be in her early thirties burst out the door. "Is it you?"

Eleven threw out his arms, nearly smacking Lauren in the face. "It's me! The Doctor!"

Ten raised a hand. "As am I..."

Nate sheepishly coughed again. "And I as well." He looked at the woman. "Hello, Susan."
